I went for a short ride on my 1995 Mach Z today and felt a skip in my drivetrain. It happened a couple of times under acceleration. I inspected my track, rollers, skid ect. all looks to be in good condition. So my thought is my chain may be very loose and the chain was skipping a tooth. I am going to open the case cover tomorow for inspection. Any other Ideas on what might cause this, where else I may want to look.I also looked at clutchs and they look fine. Thanks for any info.

The chaincase will have a tensioner on it, which you can adjust to get it tighter. But since it was slipping, check for excessive wear on the parts. Refill with a synthetic lubricant if possible.

Thanks for your help. The chain was very loose and out of adjustment. Everything is in good shape and back together. I like the design of the tensiner, it is very user friendly. The adjustment bolt is easy to turn by hand and I will check regulary.:)
