i just wanna know how big a differnce there is in a xcr 440 and indy 400.?

these are two very different snowmobiles. The 440 XCR was built as a consumer version of the cross country race sled so the main features are beefed suspension and the 440 light weight liquid cooled twin. The 400 Indy is your basic entry level model that the average rider would do just that...ride it.

You didnt say what year they were, so I can only give you a general overview. The 400 is most likely a trail sled, with standard, non rebuildable shocks, and the factory set up for track and suspension. Depending on the year, the 440 xcr is more of the "race sled", with better suspension, a bit more power, the newer xcrs were the edge chassis, very nice ride, ,some came with Walker-Evans shocks on the back, very nice ride, and the VES engines had great snap off the line. If you are looking for a faster, better handling sled, then I would go for the 440 over the 400.
