The "new" sled has a 4' stance with the skis just rubbing/wedging into the side rails of my tilt trailer that's only 4' across.

It's this model of trailer pictured below. seems like if I just find a way to bend the metal edges outwards by even 1/2" the sled will fit much better... but I haven't found a good method/tool to get them to bend without kinking halfway up.

Try adding a layer of either wood or better yet a plastic truck bed liner!
If you look at your skis the carbide is all that is touching trailer.
If you raise the ski an inch or two it could ride right over the edge yet stay on!

The lip of a frame is quite a bit high, I'd be adding a good thickness of wood - but I see what you mean. Adding two strips of wood to each side so the carbide is lifted up and off and it's just ski on wood for easy gliding.

The hesitation i have for that is i planned on adding a superclamp it it probably won't work if the skis are sitting that high off of the metal trailer floor?

Solved - i got a really long wood/project clamp from canadian tire, clamped it onto the bend in the rail, and was able to bend it that way.

I'd have to ask why your sled is so wide...but that is another subject...

SuperClamps are adjustable quiet a bit. It is possible to replace that adjuster (just a bolt with a fancy handle on top), but with the the fancy handle it might not lock in place. (nice anti-theft feature).

I don't recommend bending the edge as the trailer is rated based on that being structurally sound. A bend in it would compromise the structure.

Already bent and it was just maybe 1/2" bend on each side. I put in garage door liner on the floor to act as cheap ski runners and even that little lift helped clear the skis from rubbing on the sides.

Yes good point why is it so wide! Previous owner put oversized skis on it and also set the suspension to the highest point he said. Possiblity was crashed and this is a cover-up but everything looks straight in terms of spacing between the spindle components and arms.

No pics yet - the sled is tipped with the skid out sorting that currently (my other thread). Hopefully it isn't tipped to the point of fluids leaking out slowly... So far so good
