Why is it when I mention that there is a 71 Ariens in Mint condition in my family. People always bug there eyes out. Seems like when I get to talking to guys about snowmobiles and mention the 71 Ariens in mint condition they get all shocked and surprise.

Old Man they actually sold a 74 model. I love firing up that Ariens and taking it for a cruise though. But man that thing is a tank.

i'm usually turned off when someone says mint because to me it usually means they never ride it and it sits under a cover somewhere. i'd love to see an ariens on the trail. i hope its mint condition cause you love it and even though you ride it hard and get it dirty you take the time to keep it clean

Ok to me it is mint. Reason I say mint is the engine starts on the first pull. The seat was redone back to original though, the chrome with some chrome polish would be like new, the track has wear on it. But nothing that makes it non-rideable.

I grew up riding this sled around the yard. It has a 1 lung Sachs engine. A few years ago I found a new carb for it on ebay. Bought it and that fixed the hard start no start.

The only thing that does not work is the tail light, and it is missing the snow flap.

Next time it is out I will snap some pictures of it.

Ariens made sleds 69-73 actually.
But like you said, not many out there.
My friend and I like them a lot.

I've collected:

1-69 300/III (+a spare parts sled)
1-70 440SS
1-71 400SS
1-350S
1-275S
1-400L (wide track)
