Alright, my buddy has a 1989 Artic Cat Pantera 440cc and it has been running and working fine with two aux fog lamps my buddy added. Yesterday we start it up and while its warming up all the lights go out (low beam headlight, taillight, and bot fogs) and eventually the high beam goes out. brake light stays on. we pull all the bulbs and they are blown!!! at the same time!!! what happened??? so we replace the taillight and it immediatly blows again....
Dont want to keep burning through bulbs, whats going on?
No, the stator output is not enough for that load (35-55 watt) and the regulator can not handle the load because the draw is too high.
You would need to put in new light coils (65-85 watt) to be able to run that much load.
If I were to add a battery and run all lights off of it, What would I need to do to safely have the system tricle charge the battery? or is that even possible?
Then you would also need a rectifier to keep the battery charged.
You can put larger light coils in that will handle that load too.
