Looking for any information in regards to installing electric start on my 1999 Polaris xcf440. Are there kits available? The sled has the ignition already in place but that is all. What do I need? Where does it all mount? etc. Thanks in advance for any help! This machine is strictly used for ice fishing and I'm just trying to make life easier.

You will need the starter/mount/wiring, a battery, and a new clutch with ring gear. The normal clutches aren't machined to accept them. I'd make a visit to the local Polaris mechanic, he may have some wisdom for you. Polaris doesn't support vehicles much past 10 years, so finding the necessary parts may be very hit and miss. You may be better off selling your sled and buying one that has e-start already installed.

You may also find the parts available at a snowmobile salvage yard. I've used Als Snowmobile a few times over the years with good success.
