My 1999 Polaris Xc 500 ran like a champ before it sat for 3 years, and now it only idles on half choke. How do I get it to idle with no choke?

Things we’ve done to it
• cleaned the carbs
• put new gas in it

You need to clean the carbs from top to bottom. Use a small piece of old wire to clean the passages, make sure you set the float level correctly or you could have issues. Also you will want to possibly replace or rebuild the fuel pump as well if it has been sitting that long without running as over time those can go bad with ethanol in the gas it is just for piece of mind. Also make sure that all the fuel lines don't need replacing as those too can go rotten over time.

The 1999 XC 500 is a good running sled, make sure you grease all the grease zerts on it for the front suspension and rear suspension. Also make sure you spray some graphite lube in the primary clutch as well before running it, also take a piece of sandpaper and clean off the insides of the primary and secondary clutch sheaves to remove anything that may have built up from belts or corrosion from not using it. Just a lite grit will do fine on those as they are aluminum.

Anything else just ask!
