Ok here we go just bought this sled haven't been on one in 30 years ,,
chain case oil is black and i want to change it out
is there a plug or do i have to take the cover off

there is a plug on the bottom of the chaincase, get under the sled with an allan wrench and you will get it out!

After you drain the oil, it's still a good idea to remove the cover and check the chain and sprockets. You will also find a lot of dirt left behind that draining doesn't get rid of. The gasket is usually reusable.
