Im looking to buy a 2006 SKIDOO MACH Z 1000cc Fuel Injected and wanted to know if anyone can tell me any issues with these or any feedback at all on the 1000sdi engine. It has less than 2300 miles and is in great condition. Any help would be appreciated.
my buddy had one and when he bought it back in the day he cudnt wait to get it!!!! it gave him more problems then anything he sold it and was so dissapointed if u no how to fix sleds and dnt mind then go for it u never no u cud own it and never have a problem with it try it and see!!! i no ppl that have ones that had no problems its the luck of the draw i guess u never no wat ur going to get!
That is a strong engine but there are some things that need to be done to insure its reliability. As sschne62 states I would do some reading over in the Machz section of Dootalk. The biggest killer of these engines is fuel pressure problems if the low pressure fuel pump starts to fail it will lean out the engine and cause a meltdown. Not trying to scare you away from the Machz as it is a great running sled it just needs a few tweaks to give it the dependability you want.
i wanted one love the look but the 1000 needs a complete rebuild at 4500 miles.. a very reputable shop i know when a guy comes in with a 1000 sdi and says " i think i blew it up" he looks at the odometer and if he sees 4500 miles or over its 4500 bucks to get it running again.
