Yes and no, it was an option, so it depends on the specific sled. If it has reverse, there will be a lever sticking through the hood above the pull start handle, and If it has electric start, you'll see a battery next to the chaincase (or an empty battery tray where one should be!)

Hello. I recently found a 2003 yamaha sx viper 700 triple for sale and had a question about the sleds themselves.
Does it have electric start and reverse?
I don't know how many miles are on it but I know the owner and can trust that he has kept it in good condition. He's asking $2000. Is this a good price?
