Just finished rebuilding engine on RMK 800 took it out 1st trip and it ran great. Went out yesterday and it didn't run so good. Engine is missing no power. One guy said maybe the Throttle positioning switch. any suggestions
check the easy stuff first. Fouled plugs? Gummed up VES valves? Bad plug wires?
The TPS doesn't usually go out of calibration, but it can happen. There is a good youtube video on how to check it if that's a concern.
To remove or change the TPS will require a special tamper-resistant type star/torx bit. If you have a good relationship with your dealer, they may toss their tester on it for little to no cost. To simply check it using their tools takes 5 minutes on the Edge models.
