Hi All,
Took my new (too me) used 2002 800 out to Cisco Grove (near Lake Tahoe) yesterday, wow, what blast. Rolled her one her side, and only got stuck in the powder once. Did see a guy down 15' in a hole, he didn't see the creek, and yup, right in. We tried to help get him out to no avail.
Filled coolant bottle up (it was empty when purchased) to line, refilled after warm-up/cool down. I did notice that my coolant level is now down 1/2", and don't see any signs of a coolant leak. Could I have a bad head gasket? Compression is 130, 140 pto side. Any ideas?
Thanks!!
PS. Thanks BC_Dan for your replies!

I agree with JheLrey. Fill it back to the line and ride, if it stabilizes, then it was air in the system. I wouldn't worry too much as long as it doesn't drop a bunch.

However, if the bottle was empty when you got the sled, there was/is a small leak in the system. Sometimes they are a real bugger to figure out. It may be a good idea to fill a 16oz water or soda bottle with antifreeze 50/50 to make sure you have a full system when out riding.
