Ok guys now that we got the beast running pretty good, minus a little tuning. Got a few small issues we need to work out.

1st is the oil light. It stays on all unless we are at WOT then it either goes off or flickers, There is plenty of oil in the tank.

2nd is the fuel gauge. it seems to either not work or is off, like when there is 3/4 a tank it will read a 1/4.

What should we be looking for on these to troubleshoot/fix..

thanks guys!

both those items have electronic sensors that you can troubleshoot with basic electrical tests. beyond that, could be a wiring issue somewhere else, like a rub or cut.

Got it, was hoping there was something common that might go out.
Guess its time to print the wiring diagram and break out the multimeter..

take a wire and fish up the float in the fuel tank. next, find the wire connector on the left side behind the airbox. memory says its a green connector. disconnect it and hook up the multimeter. pull up on the float and all the way up should read 4-10 ohms. all the way down 90-100 ohms. i will have to look up the oil sender.
