So.. I took exhaust off sled to clean it up and paint it. I noticed that the stuff they put under the "heat shield" has been holding moisture and actually caused a dime sized hole to rot through my pipe. Any ideas on fixing or should I replace it? I was thinking of wrapping with heat tape. Does anyone have any opinions on using wrap? Also I am looking to replace my overly obnoxiously loud DG can. Are there aftermarket options or should I just try to find a used stock silencer?

Stock can unless you want to piss off some of the owners who have trails going through them. And make sure you go back to stock carburetor settings when you put the new one back on. Those can be had all over the place for cheap since they were used on a few models. As far as the hole goes weld it closed or take it to a welder. That is an easy fix
