My wife's 1999 500 XC has developed a strange problem. After it's warmed up, it won't shut off with the kill switch or the key. I have to choke it out to kill it. It shuts down fine while the engine is cool. I traced the wires and grounds and all appear to be okay. Any ideas?

Check the plug that goes to the CDI, make sure it's not corroded, etc. The key/kill switch turns off the signal to the CDI, so check that area.

That's wierd! When you try to shut it down hot, does it run just as smooth or does it "diesel" ((runs but rough..etc)

Yeah, it is weird. It actually idles just fine with the kill switch and key off. They have no affect on it at all.

So if you have the kill switch and key off it still starts up? Make sure that these two things are plugged in!
