I have a 94 EXT 580. The jackshaft has rubbed its way through the hoses that feed the rear heat exchangers. Seems like a poor design to have the hose run underneath the spinning shaft. I had this repaired last year, but it has already gone through the hoses. They did put a thin metal plate between the shaft and hoses. Looks like that is gone also. Is this a common thing or was it not repaired correctly? Thanks.

Never had it happen! There was suposed to be a loop that the hose goes under! I would make a loop and bolt it down. Is there a prob with one or both of the jack shaft bearings?

The shaft looks like it turns straight, but it definitely contacts the hoses. I think it wore through the metal hold down. Could I rig it to go over the shaft?
