Well yes. I’m building a go Kart and a 500 two stroke with fuel injection, liquid cooled, reverse is ideal for me. Plus I don’t have to shift

That would be more of a race cart as the 500 had about 75 hp!
The Polaris EFI was plagued with problems! And is water cooled!

I would find a 340 or 440 single carb and use the jack shaft set up and be sure to get the dimensions as exact as possible.
Even with a fanner @ 50 hp you would have a 100 mile per hour cart!

I’m gonna need water cooled. I’m in south Florida. It’s gonna be a little bigger then a go kart so I can fit in it comfortably. What r the problems it’s plagued with?

If you were to pick a roughly 500cc cat efi. Liquid cooled with electric start and maybe reverse to build a go kart out of. What older year range sled would you pick?

I would take the 97 580EFI Bateryless!

I might even take my 95 Pantera with the reverse and electric start.
The 580 is bout 90hp stock
Both of mine are slightly modified and above 100hp

Awesome! Thank u! I notice scrolling through Arctic Cat parts house website going from year to year that the 97’ ext 580 dlx efi has an electric and pull start? Cool. Any reason u chose a 97’ only?

I have the 97 ZR 580efi, first year of the bateryless and extra travel.
I had a 98 EXT 580 efi basically same sled just softer suspension.

You could also find a 98-01 ZR 600efi, newer and a bit more hp
