the kids have a 1977 yamaha 250 enticer. It wuz running really good until sunday. It spits and sputters and then it takes off and runs fine for awhile and then it spits and sputters when u get back on the gas. I tried starting it today and it just backfires through the carb area now.. Plz help !!!

Check compression then.

should be 110 to 125, water in the fuel? add a little heet to the gas?

Mine broke the carb flange! It would still sorta run but only with the choke on.
I would remove it and atleast check it and clean the carb too!
