I recently am working on a 1976 Arctic Cat Pantera 5000. My question is, I installed a new tail light and a new head light, but they stay dim no matter how fast the engine is running. Is there a ground somewhere on the the sled or engine that I don't know about?

Sounds like a bad ground.

This link to a wiring diagram may help you chase the problem. The main ground if I remember correctly is through the voltage regulator. Make sure it's firmly attached.

How do you check to see if the voltage regulator is bad?

I wasn't saying the voltage regulator was bad, it's just one of the points where you need a good ground and that it should be checked to see if you have a good ground.
