Could somebody give me a rundown on what changed in the xcsp 's between 2000 and 2001? I am considering buying one of these and am trying to decide if i would be better off buying a 01 xcsp 500 or a 00 xcsp 600/700

any info or advice would be appreciated...thanx

The XC '01 has the EDGE chassis, '00 has the older GEN II chassis. XCSP 600 '00 has VES but 700 '00 doesn't have it. '01 both 500, 600 has VES (I'm not sure wether the 700 has it or not).

So what should you choose then?
I would go for the XC SP 500 '01 because of the new EDGE chassis (better suspention, stronger chassis etc.).

I've got an 01 500 XC SP. The edge chassis is the way to go. Much better suspention. Also of note, the only difference between any of the 01 XC SP's is engine size. Same chassis, gearing, suspention ft and rr. track- everything except the engine. By the end of next year I should have 7000 miles on the motor. I plan on dropping in a 700- it bolts right up!

This was in another post:

boom I wanted to let you know that I just bought an 02 xc sp 500 and my wife owns a xc sp 600 2000 and my 500 stock rips hers apart on take off and top end . Im putting a rumble pack on it this weekend . but you really should stay 2001 and up the edge suspension is the way to go the sled i was riding last year was a 95 and I test drove a few diff. models and the edge susp. I thought was the most comfortable . I will always ride a polaris I think that they are the dependable sled on the market
