Got hit with some nasty storms tonight.

To say I got lucky would be an understatement. Had a 25 foot tree in my front yard about 4 feet from house, well the winds were hurricane strength in my area of Wisconsin uprooted it. Thankfully it fell to the left instead of forward onto my house or to the right where my neighbors were sitting in their living room or backwards right onto the power lines.

It managed to smash the 2 year old ramp I had installed as well so we get to rebuild that also.

As it fell it bounced right off the other tree in the yard sparing my Explorer from being smashed into bits.

What sucks is last year they raised my deductible for stuff like this to 2k from the 500 dollars I had it set at. So looks like a few people are going to come over and help remove it & hopefully rebuild the ramp as I need it as it is easier for me to get in and out of my house.

Also they are reporting that some areas had winds up to 90-100mph and my area was hit with around 78mph or so. For some reason I always knew that tree would come down. Just glad I am safe and so is both houses.

Rough!
Glad all are ok.
Insurance is one of those needed evils of life!
All we have here is heat!
Yesterday was 99 and again today!
And me without A/C

Good Luck

I'm glad things weren't worse! Wind and trees can make a big mess, that is for sure! If you were a LOT closer, I'd come over and lend a hand.. the chains on my saws just got sharpened and they are ready to go!

There is damage all over this eastern part of the state from just north of me down to south of fond du lac. I wish I had taken a picture but there is a spot about 3 miles from here where there was...key word was about 25-30 trees in a nice big area...yeah looks like someone mowed them down with a lawn mower. All of them were at least 30 foot tall and all are on the ground.

The neighbor is going to cut open a pathway for me to at least get out the front door, but the rest of the tree is going to have to sit till later on in the week when my dad's friends can come over and chop it up. I wish it would have been the Maple tree in the side part of the yard...that at least we can burn as firewood, granted not the best that burns but this is a massive pine tree...basically worthless.

Also KC we have had nothing but heat here as well. It has been so bad that the highways have been buckling. Hwy 41 which was just done a couple years ago buckled in several spots Weds when we were down there and of course it happened right when we were leaving.

Got the tree removed tuesday thanks to a friend of my dad's and he brought one of his friends also. They had it removed in 3.5 hours along with the damaged ramp.

2000 dollar wheelchair/scooter mobility ramp is pretty much toast and my insurance won't cover it because of what they did to my wind/hail damage deductible without telling me. So somehow we have to try and repair this one, going to be an interesting repair for sure!

We burn a lot of pine in this area, it burns pretty good, it won't compete with the hardwoods, but if it's right there, and I used wood heat, I'd burn it. When you live in evergreen country, you burn what you can get

I hope you can get it all repaired to your liking... insurance companies suck. Just my humble opinion, mind you.
