Mountain cat fuel pump rebuild?

I got a 2002 mountain cat 800 and fuel spews out from the top of the fuel pump. I’m thinking I need a rebuild kit but there isn’t a way to get the top apart... do they make a rebuild kit for it or do you have to get a whole new assembly?

If it is a Mikuni then yes you can buy a new assembly or a rebuild kit. My personal choice is to just buy a new pump then the rebuilds but many people here have used the rebuild kits without issues. Just make sure it is a true mikuni rebuild kit and not some off brand junk if you go that route.

Is it EFI or Carbed? That will determine if you can rebuild it or not.

If it is carbed then the fuel pump will look like part number #20 and you are better off buying those from amazon or eBay.

If it is EFI then it will be part number #1 and is not rebuildable and will have to buy a new one or aftermarket one.

KCCats will know where to get the pump if it is EFI as he is the go to for Arctic Cats around here

02 800 should be a twin and Mountain should be EFI.

But they did make both!

Double check all your fuel lines for leaks
