1996 600 Yamaha Vmax questions

I just bought this sled last weekend, and pardon silly questions, but I am new to the whole snowmobile world... short of renting them.

The suspension, when I push down on the rear seat, and let go is should spring back up correct? Mine will stay down position unless I pull it back up.

That normal?

Thanks!!

I hope to learn a lot here!

With the yamaha's i think it is normal, mine does the same thing. I tightend my back shock and it does not do it as much now.

Would this be an indication of worn shocks? Is this somthing easily replaced or is it somthing you would need to have done?

Hey Jeepers, did you get your sled at the Lake County show?
If so, can I ask you what you paid? Just curious.

Thanks

yeah, he actually put a new hood and body on it, gave me the old stuff too (see in back of photo) I guess he had taken parts from a same sled with a blow motor. Frame is good tunnel is not bent, heat exchangers look good, so well see !

Looks like it used to be red. Not bad for $900. Decent trial sled. Could use a suspension upgrade. I have one also. Has been dependable for me. Have fun!

Hmm, old thread, but Seeing as I have a question about a V max 600, I'm wondering, what is the track width and length for these models? Im looking at a 1997 at the moment.

I thought I would just post in this thread instead of making a new one.. Sorry for the thread jacking.

Thanks.
