i have been trying to find out if a set of skis off a 06 phazer will fit on my 98 vmax or anyother skis that will fit like a 02 mountain max. i thought they mount up the same but not sure?

the phazer skis will fit if you get all the hardware with them. by that i mean you will need the bolts and the collars(spacers) as well as the nuts. you will lose about 1" in ride height with those skis. skis from the mtn max are a direct bolt on using your hardware.

any oem yamaha ski with a plastic bottom after 98, regardless of the saddle configuration will fit your sled. vipers, rx's, srx's, mtn maxes, etc. key is to get associated hardware if you opt for a set of saddleless skis.
