Ski doo carbs on my 570 exciter

So I'm getting my sisters 87 exciter going after sitting for 10 years. The slides on the carbs were stuck mouse crap and some pitting inside of them were found. Tried to clean them upand they didn't look to bad. I also have a set of carbs off a 96 580 grand tour ski doo, both 38 mm and they look like the same carb. Thinking I can swap. What do you guys think

mikuni carbs are basically the same so i wouldnt see an issue, if your swapping round slides for round slides. sounds like you have already measured them although i thought the 87 exiters had the butterfly carbs?

compare the jetting, you may have to dispose of the tors if the doo carbs werent equipped. hook them up and ride.

If they are both Mikunis, they should be identical. Bolt and go.

The SkiDoo carbs do not have a cable operated choke system like the Yamaha carbs and cannot be converted - you will have to install a primer setup like the SkiDoo had to be able to start the engine when cold.

leave it to the canucks to screw up a perfectly good set of japanese carbs(joke!).

i had my oldest son build an exciter from a box of parts a few years back. ended up using bike chokes. downside was having to lift the hood prior to starting, but it worked.
