97 V-MAX 600 XTC question from newbi :)

Hi, total newbi here but I have (or think I have) that sled and a question....(just bought it)

It shows a build date of 09/96 (I assume that its a 97) on the chassis plate The guy I bought it from said 97 VMAX 600 XTC but I am having a he77 of a time confirming this...

serial on chassis is 8CX-007259

Can someone help me confirm the year. I need to replace the sliders but can't find any; the dealer has lots for a 96 but none for a 97

OOOOPS...I just read the thread about serials and confirmed mine is a 97.....

your sleds a 97. 96 should be the same, seems like the 95 and earlier were thinner. should be the same from 97-03 ish, less color and length. the 4 strokes slides pretty much fit your rails but are tough to get through the track windows. pull one off and compare.

Got them through a local dealer (Winnipeg) $20 x 2. They were a tight fit through the windows and I couldn't get them past about 4 inches out so I drilled a hole in the hyfax, put a loop of rope through and was able to use that loop to pull the slides off. Going on was easy. Thanks
