I have just picked up a 1999 Yamaha venture 600 triple 2 up just over 1400 miles. This is a 2 stroke engine. I have priced Yamaha 2 stroke oil at the local dealer and found a 2 stroke oil at Wal-Mart "Super Tech TC-W3 Outboard 2-Cycle Oil" A very big difference in price between the dealer and Wal-Mart. Would the Super Tech oil cause any problems with my sled?

as long as it flows in cold temps and is rated for cold, shouldnt be a problem.

another thing to consider is if it meets or exceeds the manufactures requirements. different oils flow at different rates so keep an eye on your oil consumption and compare it to fuel usage to get an idea of the ratio between the two as a cable adjustment may be required.

That would be like useing 15W40 instead of 5W30 in the winter! There are about the same price Sno mo oil! Fowler has the Extreem for about $20 a gal!

At $12/gal, I'll keep using it in my sled.
I'm too cheap to spend more when it is unnecessary.
