hi guys, any suggestions on the problem with my kids skidoo. had it runninggreat last winter, start it up this fall, no problem. now it will start after 10 pulls, but it idles high. when i put the choke back down shes fine. once i start riding, it sounds boggy and not kicking in high speed.it stalls out then wont start until 20 minutes or so. thanks
my kids skidoo is a 1981 yamaha excel 3, what type of oil should i use to mix the gas with? 2stroke, or 2stroke synthetic oil? fuel type?reg/supreme gas?
sometimes starting your own thread gets more results, but to answer your questions and these are opinions only, i prefer the semi-synthentic yamalube 2S. non ethanol is your fuel of choice, and although its not needed, if you consider the state of the fuel at hand, most times the 91 octane is your best choice. if your looking at 87 and its already degraded, you may be in trouble. with the 91, even if its a bit on the older side, your ahead of the game for fuel requirements. remember that back when that girl was in her prime the fuel quality was much better than they are these days. a few extra dollars at fill up is still cheaper than pistons and cylinders.
