2000 Vmax Power/speed Question
Hey Everyone, Im new to the forums here - seems like a very knowledgeable board. Heres my question. I just purchased a used 700 Vmax deluxe today, and went riding with a few friends up near dorset ontario. It was just the three of us, the sleds being a 2003 rx-1, a 2000 sxr 600, and Mine, the 700 vmax. Well, When i first rode the sled today, i thought it was pretty quick - cmae off the line decently, had an okay top end, but then i got o nthe sxr. Why is it that the sxr takes the vmax out of the whole, and has a higher top speed then my 100 CC more vmax? the sxr topped around 145- 150 Km/h, where as my vmax would only pull 140. I know something cant be right, im sure my sled is capeable of more then 140 km/h. Any ideas? Brand new plugs were put in today, and other then it bogs a bit at 6000 rpm, then having to bar it to clear the carbs, it runs perfect. I was thinking it could be the carb jettings, but im not that sure . Please share any ideas.
Thanks for your time,
Dave
