vmax 600- changing drive belt?

New to sledding. Bought a couple of used machines mainly for kids to ride. One sled is yamaha vmax 600, 1996. How do I change the drive belt? Did not receive owners manual with purchase. All advice appreciated. thx gman

All i do is take it off the secondary clutch first, just get the belt to lip over the side of the secondary and it should come right off.....incase u dont know, the secondary is the one that sits further back

Get the belt started over the secondary pulley then push the pulley backward to roll it off.

thanks guys. I had tried that and it worked. A little tight getting it off, but do-able. I also have a 96 ski-doo. It came with a small threaded tool that spreads the sides of the secondary drive plates. I thought there might be a similar method for the yamaha. thanks for the input. gman
