Phazer seems rough at idle

My yamaha phazer runs a little rough at idle. Just doesn't sound quite right. It also seems to be engaging quite high. When I put the throtle down and it engages, the machine just takes off. You really need to hold on. Any thoughts?

whats the idle set at? try raising it up about 100-200 rpm without exceeding 1800-1900 rpm. then double check the air screw adjustment. if the engagement is too high, look at the clutches or even the belt.

If its running rough at idle the one thing I can suggest is a carb cleaning, Works every time :-)

or if thats too much work just dump some cleaner (seafoam) in your gas and hope for the best.
