how to sync mikuni carbs on 88 exciter

Please tell me the easiest way to adjust the idle screw or at least thats what i think the big screw that looks like it should be turned by hand is that is located on the clutch side of the machine . Also does this have any thing to do with the sync process. Please forgive my retardation

Yes it does but if you adjust one with out adjusting the other they most likely will be out of sync. You need to either remove the air box or the rubber boots that bridge between the carb's & the air box. Then with with both the boot's/air box removed feel inside the carb's you will feel the slides move up and down when you depress the accelerator they should be exactly the same distance. If the do not that's what the BIG screw is for to increase or decrease the travel distance of the slides.I hope that help's good luck.
