I have a 1984 Phazer and have recently done a tune-up and cleaned the carbs. The engine now runs very smooth and idles perfectly, however, when I start to throttle up the clutch doesn't want to engage. It does finally engage, but then the engine starts to bog down. Is this just a simple case of needing to lube the clutch or is there something else I am missing? Thanks for any help.

At what rpm is it engaging?

It is engaging at about 3000-3200.

Engagement is OK, how new is the belt and you should look at the secondary to be sure that it is closed all the way so that the belt is at the top of the sheaves.
