exciter 2 clutch

I have a 91 exciter2. At the end of the season last year the clutch started to clunk as it engaged. A local shop put another clutch on for me that is quite a bit different from the one I had on it. The newer one is mostly enclosed and my old one is the yxcr clutch I believe, which i very open. The new clutch is also about a half inch shorter than the old one which leaves the mounting bolt sticking out past the clutch. Is this going to be an issue? I would hate to blow it up while riding with my kids. Any thoughts would be welcomed.

I wouldn't think so. If it was put on they probably were sure it would be ok.
