1981 yamaha srv 540 moving problem

hi i have a 1981 Yamaha srv 540 it wont move very easily until it gets in motion it seems to be running fine though. i lift the back of the track up and it is zippy like my friends phazer. When i put it back down it seems to bog until it grabs then it has lots of power.

its like the clutch is slipping or something if you know what might be wrong let me know Ive already cleaned the carb fully and filled it up on gas.
I dont know but my friends phazer you tap the gas and it goes mine just doesnt unless you give er pinned, then it will tear off.

this is dannys friend. the belt looks ok. I told him it might be the clutch but neither of us know how to clean or check them. How would we go about checking it out.

Thanks Dylan

There are a few posts on cleaning clutches, don't know much about it myself but if you take a look around the forums you'll find it.

Check the plugs too.
There is info that you need on the "tech" section of the forum.
