Opinion required from the Yamaha gearheads?

Just bought a new mountain sled for myself and was looking for a second sled for my wife to learn on. She'll stick mostly to trails but want her to have enough power and sled to push through some powder if and when she's off trail.

I found a local sled for sale in the right price range for her to get her feet wet with and wondered what the Yamaha crowd could offer on this sled. It's a 2000 Mountain Max 600 (Triple) Deep Powder Special (141" w/ 2" paddles). Two prior owners, in nice shape and has a few upgrades. Going to look at it tonight and check compression on it. Opinions on this model appreciated?

Better be an electric start unless she has a lot of muscle.

I would agree with the electric start, but for sure make sure she can start it herself unless you know for sure you will be with her every moment she is riding. I know too many women who have gone to start the sled only for it to be too cold/elec. start just wont work, and then they are hooped for getting it started. I rescued a friends GF last year, as he was away, and she was about 15 miles away, and had stopped with her friends, and they didnt know how to start a sled without the use of electric start.

Sled turned out to be in great condition. Tracks good, wheels, sliders and ski's are good too, and the compression in each hole was close to 110lbs. Comes with a new seat cover to be installed, dollies, case of oil and a few other extra's.

Bought it for 2400.00 Canadian and it starts first pull. No electric start but wondering if that can be added to this sled. The ignition has the spring loaded switch for electric start?

Just like Waters88 said.
I just bought an Arctic Cat EXT 800 ZRT triple and I don't have enough strength to pull it over in 60* weather. Just don't ask how old I am. Found out it's pretty damn expensive to add an electric start, and the wee little batteries won't take too many tries at starting. Friend of mine has a triple, and it was eating plugs up pretty good until a guy told him too let it warm up for 4-5 minutes before taking off. He does that and the plugs last a lot longer. Make sure you have an extra set of plugs and wrench on the sled, show her how to change them. Sounds like you got her one hell'va sled , just hope she can handle it.

Dunno yet about what she'll be able to handle but the reasoning is two fold as I can now invite a buddy out to ride if she doesn't want to come. If and when she's out with me, I will start it for her and yes it will always go out with a spare belt and spare plugs which it has.

Thanks for the advice thus far!
