Exclamation Yamaha Bravo Oil Pump?

How come everyone disconnects the oil pump on their yamaha bravos and instead mix the gas? Are they un reliable or somethin? I just think it would be more convenient to use the pump

They think it saves weight and somebody told them that oil pumps were unreliable because somebody knew somebody who blew an engine from pump failure.

ok thanks but are you sayin the oil pumps are reliable or not? if i do decide to just mix would i use a 50:1 mixture? That means for 50L of gas i need 1 L of oil right?

The pumps are reliable.
And your mix ratio would be right.

Thumbs up

1/2 liter to a jerry can! and to answer your question; its not to save weight, dealing with 15 year or so old parts vs just mixing your gas when you buy it is the same as preventative measures!! all old 2 strokes where you mixed gas vs older tech oil pumps the mixed gas had fewer fatalities! i mix gas on both my bravo and my 88 enticer and i have piece of mind!(don't know which piece? but?) lot less things to go wrong!
