94 vmax 600LE

Hi everyone...

I am changing my gearing in my vmax cause the bottom ends sucks period... so the gear swap has begun and have a few questions.

the top gear on it a 21 tooth but every parts place i look online the stock top sprocket is 20 tooth so i want to put a 19 tooth on to give me better bottom end... not a problem found the sprocket online and now i am looking for the chain.... i went into my local yamaha dealer and he says i need a 70 link drive chain. well asked him how much and quoted me 223.26 for the chain now that seems really high to me.... now is there any vmax's that came with a 70 link chain stock? does the machine have to have reverse in order to use the 70 link chain or?

i live in canada btw...
anyone have a 70 link chain kicking around they want to sell send me a message...

thanks in advance

Is there something wrong with your chain? If not you can use the same one. the chain tightener will adjust enough to take up the slack.
