Has any one machining primary sheaves to remove a groove in the face of the sheave?

If it's a low performance sled, you can remove any sharp burrs on the edge of the gouge and run it forever like that. You may go through more belts but you be the judge. Big gouges or high performance and yes, replace the sheave.
