Question 1985 yammha bravo need help

well im 18 been racing quads for the past 3 years dont know much about seld but u know just about everthing to a quad and was wounder if any one knew any way to make a old sled like this one fast i want to make this thing beat a 600 if you know what i mean make it open a can of whoop ass lol and the lower gear is it like a quads better to have more teeth or less i think if more teeth more topend but less teeth better lowend power like a quad thanks john
P.S im going to move out next summer so im not going to throw alot of money in to this thing or buy a new one thanks

is this a 1985 yamaha phazer?? if soo then first thing is put a better track on it, then try and see if you can put like a exciter engine in it(570cc), after that the yamaha phazer isnt the fatest thing in the world and i would try to find a nice exciter and put a better track on it when you do get it!

No it a 85 yammha barvo 250J but that an't a bad idea i found a 550 cc motor on ebay that i think i might just buy

oo ok well then try it, you most likely will have to change the motor mounts and where they are

Hey, you just never know what you can do with an older engine. I have a beat up 1973 polaris colt 340 that I did a bit of tinkering with. It can beat a mid 90s 440, and I did beat a 1995 formula 500 last season at local drag. Boy was his face red! It is BONE stock, just out better plugs and wires on it, kept the original track, suspension, everything. I still like taking it out for a rip every once in a while. Its all about how you set everything up, and how you drive it. Clutching also plays a big part.
