Yamaha Vmax to Viper suspension switch..?

Hey Guys,

First time on this forum, hopefully I got this all right!

I have a 1998 Yamaha Vmax 600, it has 22,000KM (thats what...13,000 miles?)

The rear suspension went for a nosedive the end of last season. I have an opprotunity to pick up a 2002 Yamaha Viper for fairly cheap, that only has about 4000Miles on it. Guy is going to throw in a brand new ice ripper track. The motor is blown up, so I figure I can take the rear skid out, use the track, and maybe take the front shocks too.

I know it is possible to switch from Vmax to Viper rear skids, but is it a direct swap? Meaning they have the same size skid and everything?

Also, how tough of a job is this... how many hours would people estimate??

Any info is appreciated!

Kyle

Swap the motor over to the newer frame, it's a better setup.

Not really my favorite option, since my motor does have 13,000 miles on it. Plus I am planning on fixing up the motor, and selling it seperate, and probably selling the rest of the machine to the local snowmobile scraper, who said he would give me a fair buck for everything else.
