Is this a good deal?

I saw a 2001 yamaha sxr 700 with a nice tilt 8x8 trailer for $1100. It has 9500 miles but the guy says its perfect and the pics look really nice. Is this a good deal and how nice are these snowmobiles? Anything I should look for?

thats a great deal!! the trailer alone is almost worth that! It has high miles, but yammis will run forever... just check compression b4 buying, and look it over real well

I actually want it for the trailer for my quads but the sled is really clean. Ill offer $800 and see what he says. Hopefully get it for at most $1000.

That's a great deal! Provided an almost 10,000 mile sled will run properly...

I would buy it if the trailer is in great shape... You know you could part that sled and make most of your money back it if is damaged, etc... This is assuming the trailer is aluminum.

I would offer $1000 for it all it he says no give him what he wants, $800 is way to low I think for a sled and trailer. These are rock solid reliable sleds, both the sled itself and the motor, on totallyamaha some members have like 14-15000 miles with out even doing the rings. And after like polaris rider said, you could sell the sled for $1800 if its in good shape, basically making 7-800 dolla's for nothing

Well just got home from pickin it up. Gave him the full $1100 and man was it worth it. The sled is near perfect and starts first pull. 125 psi in all cylinders! Trailer is really nice too and only needs some paint. Even has brand new tires!

well ow you have a good sled that will still outlast other 2 strokes if you rebuild the motor properly sometime down the road, you may want to do it soon, unless the owner recently did the motor, 125 PSI is good , especially with 9500 miles

Whats the lowest compression you can have till it needs new rings? I also pulled the dipstick from the bottom end and the end of it was pretty full of crud. Is that for the wet brake?

No oil on a sled.... It is mixed through an injector... so I am guessing you are talking chain case lube...

100# or less, new rings! However, it may still run perfect, etc.
