Check your states laws concerning modified exhaust first.

hauck is the loudest i think. mbrp is loud and sounds good, but it is a high rpm scream, hauck is just plain loud and angry.

Why would you want to be louder? What kind of friends can you make by
being loud? Many times have landowners, who allow their land to be used for our trail system get pissed off by loud sleds and close their land off for 'our' use.
Don't get me wrong, everybody like's a nice exhaust sound, but the moderator here is being too nice. I'll bet nobody wants to hear yours.

Here in Ontario ANY modification to the stock exhaust system is illegal. They will and DO stop you and charge you, they can and will also confiscate the pipe/can. I was riding with a guy last season who was stopped by a local Provincal police officer for having a bender can on his machine, and being way too loud. The officer went to his car, got out the tools for the guy to take it off, and took the Can with him, plus it was a 175 dollar fine. I then towed his sled about 30KMs back to the his house.

I am on the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs Trail Patrol team, and while we cannot charge or lay a fine for it, we can report it to police, and they will do as they see fit.

You notice that he does not say where he rides.
Most states in the US are now adding laws concerning modified exhausts due to the noise issue. The fines are getting stiffer due to a "no tolerance" factor.
We want to keep out trails, so if you're in NY, don't do it.

A few years back when I had my XC I got stopped. I had a modded exhaust. Police trail patrol issued me a warning because they were just starting to enforce the noise law. After my ride was complete I replaced the aftermarket can with the stock 1 and never looked back. $380.00 for the can + $175.00 fine. Thats a weekend away riding for me. If you want to do anything to your sled throw a single pipe on it, you'll save money on gas that way.
