2002 viper upgrades

I plan to buy a Viper soon, I wanted to know of some common mods (triple pipes, reeds, reed spacers) and what I can expect for a difference from stock? Sled I'm buying is near new, 1k miles on it, ridden lightly for the most part. I've heard the reeds and reed spacers help wake this up, but the triple pipes really get it moving. Can anyone give me some numbers though? Thank you! I also would like some links to places I can buy the parts.

Thanks for the link! That doesn't tell me anything about what I should consider upgrading though

doesn't the viper have a detuned srx engine? i'd check that out with a dealer or on ty forum (totally yamaha). maybe you can use the stock triple pipes from a srx. with that said....
SLP claims 33hp+ w/ their pipes
Yamaha - 700 Viper Triple Pipes - Starting Line Products
SLP trail porting for the Viper in conjunction w/ their triple pipes will give you 160hp
Yamaha - Viper Trail Porting - Starting Line Products

just start looking around, i really suggest the ty forum. my buddy has a 98 srx and has found amazing deals on the forum. people with massive knowledge and parts (like here) but only yamaha.

02 Vipers usually need the shocks revalved. Replace and shim all the skid bushings and atleast a 1 inch track. Engine mods: trailport the cylinders ( wakes up the low-mid range power) Pipes will add 20-30 claimed hp depending on manufaturer.Expect to spend some time tuning the engine to run pipes ( rejetting). Most important mod would be clutching. Most of your gains will be found in the clutches. There is alot of good info on these sleds in other forums as well as this one like ty forums or hcs.Take your time and do a little research. Good luck

i have an 02 viper and put simons cpr triple pipes on it this past winter. i had it on my buddy's dyno to jet it and tune it properly. it made 149.5 hp and 88 ft/lbs. i also made some reed spacers and heel clicker clutch setup with a green yamaha secondary spring set at 60 wrap with a 52/42 helix. sled runs wicked and the cost of the parts was less than $1000 easily keeps up with 800's.
