hi just picked up a 97 vmax and it seems the cyl cuts and runs on 2 instead of 3. could this be the magneto or stator as i have checked the coils and cleand carbs and none of this helps.
magneto seems to put out 6 volts at idle and rises to 7 volts. any help would be appreciated thankyou!

Switch the wires on the plugs and see if it follows the wires. This will tell you if the coils are the problem.

ok checked all the coils by moving the wires around and did same thing. checked coils with ohm meter and stator, all tested good so i started checking wire harness and found broken wire going to tss. running great now. paid 1000.00 for this sled with a rebuilt motor a couple days ago, well worth the money thankyou for your help!
