Just got a 1999 V Max 600 triple

Hello, I just bought a 1999 yamaha v max 600 triple. I am not sure if it is a sx or deluxe or what does not say on the side, just says vmax. It is a triple cylinder, with electric start and reverse. It is a maroon color, not red. It is a very comfortable sled very well put together, I really love this sled, I have had a couple of ski doos and have a polaris 600 xc twin, but this sled is alot more comfy and well built, good fit and finish. It does not seem very fast though, I thought it would be a little faster as it is a triple, but I think the po po 600 twin will outrun it. Is this right, or should it be faster. I just got it about a month ago, runs perfect and is in excellent shape, gotta love the elect start and reverse. Can anybody give me any info on these snowmobiles and tell me what model it is, I think it is what they call a Deluxe?????

Yamaha = extra weight
Triple Cyl = extra weight
Electric Start = extra weight
Reverse = extra weight

I'm thinkin' the Polaris may be faster because its lighter

I agree that Yamaha is second-to-none for fit & finish. Poor marketing has been their only flaw.

yeah you are problably right about the weight, but I sure would thought the triple cylinder would helped it in the gusto department, I mean give is some more power. I am also curious about why a triple, I have been checking ebay and other sights over and most of the vmaxs are 500 or 600 doubles, why in some did they put the triples, was it just certain sleds? Thanks for the info guys.

Some clutching tweaks and gearing changes might help there.
