Mountain Max 700 Triple Piped. Good Sled?

Hello:

A few question for all you Yamaha guys. I'm considering buying a 97 Mountain Max 700 with 2700 miles. It looks like it is in great shape and they are asking $1,600 for it, which looks like a good deal? It is triple piped other than that it is stock. Wi11 this sled run with my buddys' stock 2001 SkiDoo Summit 800? Also I will be riding it in the mountains 6500ft + and mostly around home at 2,500 ft. How hard is it to change out the jets on this model and will the clutch have to be adjusted also? Which jets do I need at the lower elevation? Any thing to look for when I look at it? Any advice or Information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sam

I've got a 99 and 2000 Mountain Max and they're great machines. I ride both of mine around 6500 ft and jetting can be dialed but you have to remove the carbs to do it. You shouldn't have to do much with clutching. I've heard nothing but good reports on these sleds and I'm really enjoying mine. Your track will likely be a 136" which is a bit short to keep up with your buddy, depending on where you're riding, but they have lots of power. Triple pipes will give a little more boost. Mine are both stock. I rode my friend's 800 Arctic cat the other day and my 700 has just as much or even more low end power. I'm sure you'd be happy with your choice.

have a 99' and 2000 and both have triple pipes and vforce reeds. great sleds for the $. will hang with most any newer sled for about 10k less!! raced my friend's 01' skiddo 700 with my 99' and spanked him! good sleds but it is the first year if I'm correct for the product.
