Question Mounting skis from Skidoo to Yamaha ?

Hi everyone, Well I am checking out skis on ebay but find nothing for a 1995 yamaha vmax unless I want to spend $250-$350 for C&A or USI. I know I can add spacers to cover for the width but my concern is what is the major diff. besides that. Does the spindle have to sit a certain way on the damper?

I don;t know about your model sled, but some of the newer Yamahas the skis can be shimmed between rubber bushing and the ski to help it track better. You should still be able to get instalation kit to fit other brand skis ot your sled. A few riders have put precision skis,as well as C&A and slydog powderhounds. I have the stock skis on my Rage, they dart worse following another Yamaha. If our group has different makes of sleds,if we stagger them then less chance of getting stuck in other sled's tracks. plowking

What I have is a TSS front suspenssion (strut) not the trailing arm. I have metal skis which just got to go. I think I am leaning more for the C&A skis for the money. What I was thinking was to pick up a used set and make them work but now I will just spend the money and get it over with. I had a 98 700 vmax but my 14 year old son had to have it. I bought this 95 600 vmax for me but my 12 year old sons polaris was not good enough so now he has the 95 and I got rid of the polaris. I do not own a sled anymore I just work on my kids, something is wrong with this picture. Time for me to find something else and nobody will even think of driving it. Hey, Thanks Ron

Hi, Ron. I've been there. my daughters, their boyfriends, son-in-law have all gotten sleds at one time or another. If I help them ,we keep track and they work it off in my business or pay me back. Your kids might be little young to help you, but they should help you when you are working on sleds. I hope you find one they don't like. Get some old fan cooled two-up,that should be safe until they get into girlfriends. plowking

Yea, the only problem is the girl friends have thier own sleds. There is not much to do up here in the winter (North Hero, Vermont) Either you ride or watch people ice fish. I live on a damn island, but it is great opening the sleds up on the lake.
