95vmax

Hi, Does anyone know why they have different mounts for different sleds, besides the width of the skis. I have a 1995 vmax and the ski choice is very limited because of very few companies make mounts for mine. I can cure the width problem with spacers, does the spindle sit firmly on top of the damper ??? I have found tons of skis on ebay, Polaris, Ski-Doo, other yamaha's. Can I make them work ?? Thanks Ron
