86 Excel III running on one cylinder

i just recently bought this snowmobile not running.. cleaned up the carb got it to run but only on one cylinder, its a 340 btw... checked both cylinders for compression both have compression, both have spark, so at that i replaced the plugs. still one cylinder, i swaped the wire to oposit cylinders and now its ran still on one but the other cylinder, so i assumed that a coil could be at fault, so i replaced the coil, the same problem still exists and i am clueless as to what to do next, (btw none of the lights are functional and probably a wireing nightmare.. but i dont know where to begin to look, i have wiring diagrams though) both wires seem to have spark also... i mean they got me pretty good when i tryed to pull one running... stupid.. but eh.. so any ideas are much appriciated,
Thanks
Dan

If you switch wires, the other cylinder fires? The coil or the boots that go on the plugs can be the only problem.

I just had a similar problem. Get two new caps NGK caps are good and about $5 ea. Yank your plugs and spray them out with ether to get evrythinng clean or use a propane torch so they conduct incase you fouled one. Dry them off and install. The caps often fail.
